Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Yay! This friday night and Saturday we are "supposed" to get 6 or so inches of the white stuff!!! :)) And we don't get it very often. At ALL. So, I'm excited and hoping the weatherman is right; BUT, we all know only the One who makes these snowflakes knows whether or not they are coming down :)

African literature...

I am loving my African literature class! I have already learned SO much to tell my little one when I DO adopt him or her sometime in the future. I'm loving learning about the culture, the griots that tell the stories/histories of ancient times, and everything in between. Of course, as with some things in every culture, some stories don't quite make sense, but you have to make something up to make your kid behave/follow rules sometimes :))

Matthew 14:22-36

Nothing is impossible for You, You hold my world in Your hands. You're more than enough for me, Jesus You're all I need. -- Kari Jobe.

"Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.
But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."
"Come," he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."
When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret. And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed."
Matthew 14:22-36

Having faith is important. Here it was the difference between Peter walking on water and sinking, Success and FAILURE. In GOD's will, not in GOD's will. And what is SO amazing, is even though Peter's faith slacked off after he thought about what could happen to him, Jesus held out His hand and rescued Peter. GOD is ALL for you! He wants SO MUCH for you to succeed! If you will but reach out and take His hand, not looking back, not looking down at the troubling waters all around you and what "could" happen, then Jesus will take you farther than you ever dreamed. He has plans for you. Will you let Him lead you?

Walk on the Water -- Britt Nicole

I absolutely LOVE this song by Britt Nicole. It speaks of taking Jesus' hand, He is waiting for you to take a step of faith and walk with Him on the water. LOVE IT! You can listen to it by clicking herehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7R3K0sqgfvM&feature=related

With a new semester, there is a new creative writing class I have. Poetry, this time! :)) This is my first poem for this class. I do not claim to be good at poetry :) LOL. Comments, criticisms appreciated.

p.s. For privacy reasons, I am going to do away with my writing blog that I had created a few weeks back. I will still post on here some of my writing, and continue THIS blog :)

Untitled.

Crying. Screaming.
Tears staining dirt covered cheeks
Speak of her hurt.
She wants hope.
Just once more.
She begs for it, prays for it
With
ALL
She has.

The azure sky weeps.
It mourns for what it once knew.
It is terrified by what it sees below,
Corpses,
Evil,
Anger.

Her cry is but a drop in the
Sea of a million voices.
She says it cannot be heard.
But He has heard her prayer,
Has felt her tears and
Asks her to believe.
To have faith in the help she asks for.

The cool drops of a rain shower
Run down her face,
Washing away the devastation
And heartache she feels.
It is gone, if not just for this moment,
For she believes in
The One
Who has given her a reason to believe,
One more time.

i will follow you into the arms of the broken.

I absolutely love this song that I have come upon in the last day or so. It is called "Follow You" by Leeland, featuring Brandon Heath.
I need Africa more than Africa needs me. Do you?
